This kit uses magnetic beads and buffer system with unique separation function to isolate and purify high-quality DNA and RNA from upper respiratory specimen (e.g., nose swab, throat swabs, etc.), lower respiratory tract specimens (e.g., broncho alveolar lavage, etc.). Magnetic beads coated with special silica gel have a strong affinity for nucleic acids under certain conditions, but do not absorb other components in the blood. When the conditions change, the magnetic beads release the absorbed nucleic acid, so as to achieve the goal of rapid separation and purification of nucleic acid. The extracted DNA and RNA have high yield, high purity and stable quality. The purified nucleic acid extracted with this kit can be used in various conventional operations, including reverse transcription, PCR, fluorescence quantitative PCR and other downstream experiments.
